These are my pictures, made on paper with ink, colored pencils, pencil powder, aquarels, coal and pastels. Making pictures was my chief occupation in 1989-90, when I have done up to 20-30 pictures per month. Overall, there are about 100-200 colored pictures of this period, and at least as much black and white drawings. After I moved to States and became a father I was drawing very little untill the Fall of 1996 when I made about 30 new pictures, all scanned to Real Art of 1000 monkeys page. Then I brought some of the old pictures from Moscow and started scanning these.

``Images fall slow and silent like snow.... Serenity... All defenses fall... everything is free to enter or to go out.... Fear is simply impossible.... '' -- W. S. Burroughs, Naked Lunch

The scans are made at the PC computer at the Institute of Advanced Study, and treated with Adobe Photoshop. Each picture is given in two versions: a ``thumbnail'' one, usually about 3x3 inches and taking about 10-20 Kb, and a ``fullsize'' one, of the same size (sometimes smaller) as the original, and taking 80-120 Kb. The ``thumbnail'' picture is treated heavily on the Photoshop, mostly with the ``sharpen mask'' function, and the ``fullsize'' one is taken directly from the scanner.

The pictures are split onto several index files. Of these, ``Real Art of 1000 monkeys'', ``10 years of 1000 monkeys'' and ``Return of the daughter of 10 years of 1000 monkeys'' are completed and won't be modified, all the rest is under construction. There are 21 pictures in ``Real Art'', created in 1996, 19 pictures in ``10 years'', from the supplies of 1989-90, and 21 picture in Return of the daughter..., also from 1989-90. Each of these pages has about 300-400 Kb worth of thumbnail images.
